Brown Pelican

Florida Keys Wild Bird Center, located at Mile Marker 93.8 in the Florida Keys, is a rehabilitation center open to the public. They feed wild birds daily, and many of the "wild" birds are really tame birds.  Putting ethics aside, great photo opportunities abound.  Pelicans loaf around on top of the rehab cages and allow intimate approach.  Sometimes they will be walking along the boardwalks pretending they have the right-of-way.  For this photo, I used a wide angle lens just inches from the tip of the bill.
